Niels Albert wins 2012 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships

Niels Albert won the 2012 UCI Cyclocross World Championships on Sunday in Koksijde, Belgium. After a fast start Albert attacked solo on the first lap. He established a lead which he held onto through to the finish. The Belgian team dominated the race, in the end claiming the top 7 places. This is the second rainbow jersey that the 26 year old Albert has won.

Niels Albert gewann am vergangenen Sonntag die Radquer Weltmeisterschaft 2012 in Koksijde (B). Nach einem schnellen Start dominierte er das Rennen ab der ersten Runde und gewann das Rennen vor 6 weitern Belgiern die damit geschlossen die Ränge 1-7 belegten.

Niels Albert fährt sein Colnago Di2 mit TRP Bremsen und Swissstop Yellow King Bremsgummis für Carbonfelgen.

Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus) has won his first elite men's cyclo-cross national title. Powers faced strong competition during the race in Madison, Wisconsin but eventualy edged out Ryan Trebon (LTS-Felt) to take the win. Congratulations Jeremy! Jeremy Powers wins Gran Prix of Gloucester 2 2011

Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus) has won day 2 of the Gran Prix of Gloucester. After chasing Tim Johnson for much of the race, Powers caught his former teammate in the closing laps. After about half a lap Powers left Johnson behind and rode away for the solo victory.

Christian Heule (Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com) won the elite men's race at Saturday's Gran Prix of Gloucester 1. After a hard fought battle with Jeremy Powers, Heule took the win in a sprint finish.

SwissStop is pleased to announce the launch of its first mobile app. Featuring news, technical information and a handy product finder, the app will be of interest for all riders who use SwissStop brake pads. A distributor finder will help customers locate retailers and a GPS based recorder can be used to track ride data (speed, distance, altitude) and map the route. Rides can be saved and uploaded for sharing and future viewing.

Garmin-Cervélo has won Stage 2 of the 2011 Tour de France - the team time trial. The squad completed the 23 km in a time of 24:48.10, setting a record speed and besting BMC Racing Team by a mere 4 seconds.

World Champion Thor Hushovd will take the start line on Monday in the leader's Yellow Jersey.

Jeremy Powers wins Round 8 and claims USGP title

Jeremy Powers (Cannondale-Cyclocrossworld) wins the final round of the 2010 USGP series. A dramatic head to head battle with teammate Tim Johnson ended with the two approaching the finish line in  a 2 man sprint. Powers got the better of Johnson, claiming both the race win and with it the USGP overall title for 2010.

Tim Johnson wins 2009 US 'cross Nationals

Tim Johnson of cyclocrossworld.com won the 2009 US National Cyclo-Cross Championships Sunday in Bend, Oregon. Johnson was a favorite for the win after a very successful season of racing, but faced stiff competition from defending champion Ryan Trebon, past winners Jonathan Page and Todd Wells and teammates Jeremy Powers and Jamey Driscoll. 160 riders started the race, but after 10 laps on the challenging course, it was Johnson who emerged 10 seconds ahead of Trebon. Congratulations to Tim Johnson and all the riders who made this a great event.

Cyclocrossworld's Jamey Driscoll won the 3rd edition of Cross Vegas during Interbike 2009. Driscoll and Christopher Jones of Champion Systems made an early attack which quickly opened up a 20+ second gap on the strong field of international riders. The two then worked together to hold off the efforts of the chasing group throughout the balance of the race. In the final stretch it was Driscoll who triumphed over Jones, making it 3 wins in 3 years at Cross Vegas for SwissStop riders. Congratulations Jamey!

Mike Cotty completed the 2009 Race Across The Alps on Saturday June 20. The event featured 526 km of riding with roughly 13,000 m of climbing. After the race Mike reports:

"That was one crazy race!  Had everything.  Snow storms, rain, sunshine.  Insane.

10th overall. Solid ride from start to finish. Brake pads were perfect! 

I had two bikes but I only used the climbing bike with Cosmic Carbone and SwissStop pads as there was no need to change.  So, with all that descending (with all the grit and rain) I wore the front pads out by half so a pretty amazing wear rate really!

Long drive home.  5am start tomorrow!  Nothing like a bit of good recovery!  Ha!

Michael Albasini (Team Columbia) has won the fourth stage of the Vuelta al País Vasco. The Swiss rider spent 155 km in a small break away and then outsprinted the two remaining riders in the group for the win.

This week Team Colubia has arranged with the SwissStop factory to use the Yellow King compound brake pads. The ProTour squad began using SwissStop during the 2008 season and report very good performance on the variety of carbon brake surfaces on the teams wheelsets. The team has been known to use wheels from several manufacturers - hand picking the perfect wheel for the day.  The versatile performance of the Yellow King compound is ideal in this case. David Zabriskie takes third in Tour of California Prologue

Garmin - Slipstream's David Zabriskie sped to third place in the Prologue of the 2009 Tour of California. Zabriskie was 2.7 seconds back of Switzerland's Fabian Cancellara on the technical 3.9 km course. Garmin's Svein Tuft captured 9th.

Niels Albert wins 2009 Cyclocross World Championships

Niels Albert broke away early and rode to victory in the 2009 Cyclocross World Championships. Albert attacked on the second lap and maintained a gap on the Elite Men's field for the rest of the race.

Sven Nys held on for third place while Swiss riders Simon Zahner and Christian Heule took 8th and 15th places respectively.
