Marcus Burghardt (BMC Racing) has won stage 7 of the 2010 Tour de Suisse. With 2 solo stage wins in the past 3 days, Burghardt and BMC are having great success at this year's race.

Damien Monier (Cofidis) won stage 17 of the 2010 Giro d'Italia. Monier was part of a 19-rider break and he rode in solo for the victory, 36 seconds ahead of his break away companions.

Team BMC has built a new and completely custom time trial frame and fork for current UCI World Champion Cadel Evans. Evans is known for his extremely low TT position, with bars, armrests and extensions all below the top tube. This leaves barely enough room for the side pull front brake caliper - which can be seen outfitted with SwissStop's RacePro Yellow King pads.

Tim Johnson wins 2009 US 'cross Nationals

Tim Johnson of cyclocrossworld.com won the 2009 US National Cyclo-Cross Championships Sunday in Bend, Oregon. Johnson was a favorite for the win after a very successful season of racing, but faced stiff competition from defending champion Ryan Trebon, past winners Jonathan Page and Todd Wells and teammates Jeremy Powers and Jamey Driscoll. 160 riders started the race, but after 10 laps on the challenging course, it was Johnson who emerged 10 seconds ahead of Trebon. Congratulations to Tim Johnson and all the riders who made this a great event.

Niels Albert wins Cyclo-cross World Cup #2

Belgian Niels Albert won the second round of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Sunday in Plzen, Czech Republic. The result follows Albert's win in the first round on October 4 in Treviso, Italy. Niels Albert uses SwissStop Yellow King brake pads for carbon wheels.

Swiss rider Christian Heule finished 8th while the US rider Jonathan Page finished 13th.

Cross Vegas 2009

Cyclocrossworld's Jamey Driscoll won the 3rd edition of Cross Vegas during Interbike 2009. Driscoll and Christopher Jones of Champion Systems made an early attack which quickly opened up a 20+ second gap on the strong field of international riders. The two then worked together to hold off the efforts of the chasing group throughout the balance of the race. In the final stretch it was Driscoll who triumphed over Jones, making it 3 wins in 3 years at Cross Vegas for SwissStop riders. Congratulations Jamey!

2009 RATA Race Across The Alps

Mike Cotty completed the 2009 Race Across The Alps on Saturday June 20. The event featured 526 km of riding with roughly 13,000 m of climbing. After the race Mike reports:

"That was one crazy race!  Had everything.  Snow storms, rain, sunshine.  Insane.

10th overall. Solid ride from start to finish. Brake pads were perfect! 

I had two bikes but I only used the climbing bike with Cosmic Carbone and SwissStop pads as there was no need to change.  So, with all that descending (with all the grit and rain) I wore the front pads out by half so a pretty amazing wear rate really!

Long drive home.  5am start tomorrow!  Nothing like a bit of good recovery!  Ha!

Michael Albasini (Team Columbia) has won the fourth stage of the Vuelta al País Vasco. The Swiss rider spent 155 km in a small break away and then outsprinted the two remaining riders in the group for the win.

This week Team Colubia has arranged with the SwissStop factory to use the Yellow King compound brake pads. The ProTour squad began using SwissStop during the 2008 season and report very good performance on the variety of carbon brake surfaces on the teams wheelsets. The team has been known to use wheels from several manufacturers - hand picking the perfect wheel for the day.  The versatile performance of the Yellow King compound is ideal in this case. David Zabriskie takes third in Tour of California Prologue

Garmin - Slipstream's David Zabriskie sped to third place in the Prologue of the 2009 Tour of California. Zabriskie was 2.7 seconds back of Switzerland's Fabian Cancellara on the technical 3.9 km course. Garmin's Svein Tuft captured 9th.

Niels Albert wins 2009 Cyclocross World Championships

Niels Albert broke away early and rode to victory in the 2009 Cyclocross World Championships. Albert attacked on the second lap and maintained a gap on the Elite Men's field for the rest of the race.

5th Swiss Championship for Christian Heule

Christian Heule won his 5th Swiss Championship in cycle cross. The race from Wetzikon was a hot fight in really cold conditions. 6 racers were in the front of the race till the final lap. Christian could fix his victory on the last few hundred meters 2nd was Simi Zahner. Heuele and Zahner have both used SwissStop brake pads for many seasons.

Fünfter SM Titel für Christian Heule
Christian Heule wurde zum 5. Mal Schweizermeister im Radquer. Das in Wetzikon ausgetragene  Rennen wurde von einem heissen Kampf bei kalten Temperaturen geprägt. 6 Fahrern lagen bis zur letzten Runde an der Spitze eng zusammen wo sich Heule auf den letzten Metern vor Simi Zahner durchsetzen konnte. Heule und Zahner vertrauen seit Jahren SwissStop Gummis, Gratulation an Christian und Simi!!

Christian Heule a remporté son 5ème titre de champion suisse en cyclocross. La course de Wetzikon fut un combat très chaud et dans des conditions particulièrement froides. 6 compétiteurs étaient en tête de course jusqu'au tour final. Christian a pu affirmer sa victoire sur les quelques cent derniers mètres. Simi Zahner est arrivé en 2ème position. Heule et Zahner roulent en Swissstop depuis des années. Félicitations à Christian et Simi.

Gone For a While - riding from Berne to Beijing

In August 2008 Rita and Christian departed from their home in Berne, Switzerland on a year long, intercontinental cycling journey to Beijing, China.

They are now well into their trip and currently enjoying the mild winter conditions of Iran. The two are also experiencing the culture of the region first hand. In their online journal they write "We are puzzled and astonished by the events. On the way out from the restaurant, we ask the owner what this was all about. He smiles calmly and friendly, says that this is just the way it is, and that the police left again after he paid them 10'000 Tuman (10 Dollars). "

Sven Nys has won the first UCI Cyclocross race of 2009 in Baal, Belgium and in doing so further strengthened his lead in the GvA-Trophy. The course was frozen and the race featured a tough fight between Nys and Zdenek Stybar.

Racing on Mavic's Cosmic Carbon Ultimate carbon tubulars, Sven Nys finished a strong second place at the Azencross Loenhout - UCI C1/ GVA Trophy #5. Grande vittoria della AG2R con Rinaldo Nocentini al Gran premio di Lugano di quest'anno.

Tutta la squadra della AG2R monta i pattini freni della Swissstop, i gialli "Yellow King" .

Alla gara si é scoperto che anche la Saunier Duval e la Barlowordl-team montano tutti i "gialli della Swissstop".
